This is the first drawing ever (since my last stroke for about a while ago).

Well, actually shit came up after I read lots of tales about the realm of secret society and what they plan to overthrow the civilization and replace it with theirs. It really creeps me the fuck out and then there was this strong image hit up in my head...the result as you can see on the drawing, double triangle shape and dripping blood, plus that half sphere represents the decadence of the world. last but not least, two sharp and pointed lines that form a coalition of death..fuck, I know this might sounds pretty bullshit but I know it's the worst nightmare you could have imagined. behold yourself, kiddo.

Music Review: Cursed - One

"Raw, Ugly and Fucked Up"...begitulah penggambaran nuansa musik hardcore/punk yang ditawarkan oleh kuartet yang berasal dari Canada ini. Cursed sendiri terdiri dari ex members dan members dari band2 seperti Haymaker, Left For Dead, Ruination, The Swarm, dll. Tema yang diangkat kebanyakan mengambil imaji horor klasik, isu sosial, nihilisme terhadap kehidupan modern, dsb. Jika disimak, sekilas mirip dengan His Hero Is Gone..dan memang ternyata ada beberapa patokan yang diambil secara musikal directly dari His Hero Is Gone. Walaupun terdengar seperti His Hero Is Gone, Cursed memberikan penekanan yang lebih berat pada level sounding dan kualitas abrasif yang dirasakan lewat besutan2 gitar hardcore/punk ala mereka. Dan hasil yang terdengar, sesuai dengan namanya, bahkan Cursed dapat menjadi mimpi anda yang terburuk sekalipun. This is seriously some dope shit!

Review Film: Zodiac.

Satu lagi film yang layak masuk daftar tonton anda minggu ini, dan film ini sangat membutuhkan waktu dan konsentrasi anda dalam menyimak scene demi scene. Berangkat dari kasus pembunuhan berantai yang terjadi pada sekitar tahun 1960an, David Fincher (Se7en, Panic Room) pun berinisiatif mengangkat kasus ini menjadi sebuah cerita thriller yang sangat mendebarkan. Hasilnya? saya sendiri merasa sangat puas setelah menghabiskan lebih dari 3 jam utk menonton film ini. Scene demi scene berjalan dengan apik, dan menurut beberapa experts yang telah melihat hasil kerja Fincher, film ini tergolong cukup akurat dan sangat mendetail dalam alur penceritaan. Bobot dan bebet film ini tidak perlu diragukan, mengingat skala yang ditawarkan David Fincher akan sekejap mengingatkan kita akan film2nya terdahulu, seperti se7en yang tentunya tidak perlu diragukan lagi dalam segi kualitas. Dan tentunya, dengan casting2 papan atas setidaknya film ini memiliki segudang pesona. Bagaimana tidak, kehadiran Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo dan Robert Downey Jr semakin menambah solid kerangka film yang telah terbangun ini. Mereka semua memainkan perannya dengan baik dan pas. Highlight berada pada sosok Jake Gyllenhaal, yang memerankan tokoh Robert Graysmith dalam film ini. FYI, Robert Graysmith adalah seorg kartunis yang bekerja pada harian The Chronicles, yang pada akhirnya tertarik dalam kasus Zodiac ini, dan ikut andil dalam pemecahan teka-teki cypher (semacam kode rahasia yang ditanamkan dalam bentuk teks/manuskrip). Untuk lebih jelasnya, tidak ada salahnya jika anda benar2 menuruti apa kata saya, WATCH THIS MOVIE (seriously).

rating: 9/10

PS: penggunaan elemen tipografi yang baik, cukup berperan banyak dalam menambah nilai estetis film ini.
